Version 0.2.0: SQL autocomplete in the editor

Released

  • SQL autocomplete in the editor. While you type, a list under the cursor suggests column names, table names, schema names and SQL keywords.
    • Columns of the tables used in your query (after FROM or JOIN) come first. A column that exists in several tables is listed once, with the number of tables.
    • After a dot, the list is narrowed. c. shows only the columns of the table that has the alias c. my_budget. shows only the tables of that spreadsheet. my_budget.sales. shows the columns of that tab. Aliases work with or without AS, and in comma lists.
    • Names that need quotes (leading digit, reserved word, spaces) are quoted for you. Inside an open double quote, the name is completed and the closing quote is added.
    • Keywords follow the case you type: sel gives select, SEL gives SELECT.
    • Nothing is suggested inside strings, inside comments, or while you type a number.
    • Keys: Arrow Up and Arrow Down to move, Tab or Enter to accept, Esc to close, Ctrl+Space to open the list by hand. Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z) undoes an accepted suggestion.
    • The list opens above the cursor when there is no room below. It closes on click, blur, scroll out of view, and when you move the cursor with the arrow keys.
  • Fold the sidebar in the window. In the "Open in window" layout, a button at the top of the sidebar folds the Data card into a narrow strip. The editor and results then use the full width. Click the button again to bring the sidebar back. The choice is remembered. The button is hidden in the narrow side panel, where the Data card is not a sidebar.
